New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Friday ordered two state agencies to investigate a media report that Facebook Inc may be accessing far more personal information from smartphone users, including health and other sensitive data, than had previously been known.
Facebook has been at the center of various data leakage, cyber security and privacy related issues for the past few years now, and it seems that Facebook’s trouble’s are not going away anytime soon.
Data security and user privacy are growing concerns for all, and it is a field of science and technology that can change how we interact with organizations and with each other in the near future.
Facebook’s data collection and data sharing policies have resulted in various challenges for user and the organization both. These challenges are often compounded by the lack of understanding of policy makers and the generational gap that exists in lawmakers.
